Pumpkin sauce with stewed beef

Pumpkin sauce with stewed beef is very popular. We have prepared this classic recipe from a tasty pumpkin, which was grated with its kernels. Furthermore we have used new lightly peeled potatoes, to preserve as many vitamins as possible.

sour cream (10% fat)7oz200grams

whole milk 3.5%3.25tbsp50milliliters

 

Recipe

1. 

onion 2.75 oz (80 g)  sunflower oil 2 tbsp

Peel an onion, chop finely and cook in oil.

2. 

beef shoulder 1.1 lb (500 g)

Wash the meat and cut it into smaller cubes.

3. 

salt 0.5 tsp  ground caraway 0.25 tsp  ground red paprika 1 tsp

Add meat to the onion and let it fry for a while. Add salt, caraway and paprika.

4. 

water 1.5 cup (350 ml)

Add water...

... cover, stir occasionally, simmer slowly for 1.5 hours.

new potatoes 14 oz (400 g)

Wash the potatoes and lightly peel with a knife.

7. 

Cut into small cubes.

8. 

onion 1.75 oz (50 g)  sunflower oil 2 tbsp

Peel an onion, chop finely and cook in oil.

9. 

water 1.1 cup (250 ml)  salt 0.5 tsp

Add potatoes to the onion, add water, salt and cook for 10 minutes.

10. 

pumpkin 2 lb (900 g)

Peel the pumpkin, cut into smaller pieces ...

...and grate coarsely.

12. 

salt 0.5 tsp

Mix pumpkin with potatoes, salt and stew under the cover for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.

13. 

sour cream (10% fat) 7 oz (200 g)  whole milk 3.5% 3.25 tbsp (50 ml)  all-purpose flour / plain flour 0.75 oz (20 g)

Mix cream with milk and flour.

14. 

Add into the sauce and cook for a while.

15. 

unsalted butter 1.5 oz (40 g)

Remove from heat, stir in butter ...

16. 

dill

... and chopped dill.
