Stewed beef with mushrooms

    

Recipe for a typical tasty beef dish. Serve with rice, potatoes, or with dumplings.

1. 

beef shank 1.3 lb (600 g)

Wash the meat and cut into slices. Pound thinly.

2. 

dried mushrooms 1 oz (30 g)

Wash the mushrooms and soak them in water.

3. 

onion 5.25 oz (150 g)  sunflower oil 2 tbsp (30 ml)

Peel onion, chop it finely and fry in oil.

4. 

Add the meat and let it fry for a while from each side.

5. 

salt 1 tsp  ground black pepper 0.25 tsp  ground caraway 0.25 tsp  ground red paprika 0.5 tsp

Add salt, pepper and paprika.

6. 

water 1.3 cup (300 ml)

Add water, stir and simmer for 45 minutes covered.

7. 

water 6.75 tbsp (100 ml)

Add the drained mushrooms and pour water as needed (if the water has evaporated too much).

8. 

Stew for another 30-45 minutes, until the meat is soft. If it seems, you have little juice, you can add water and boil. Or, if you want the juice thicker, thicken it with a little flour or cornstarch.
