1. Onion, tomatoes
Peel the onion, slice it into narrow half-moon shapes and use your hand to take them into thin strips. Wash the tomatoes and slice them into half-moon shapes, too. Add them to onion and mix.
Add sugar and salt to water and stir. Add juice from one lemon, perhaps even few drops of vinegar. Pour the brine over the tomatoes with onion and stir.
