Recipe

1. Preparation of dough

flour medium 1.1 lb (500 g)  powdered sugar 3.5 oz (100 g)  unsalted butter 5 oz (140 g)  fresh yeast 1 oz (30 g)  semi skimmed milk 1,5% 1.1 cup (250 ml)  salt  ground star anise  raisins 1.75 oz (50 g)  walnuts 1.75 oz (50 g)

Pour a little lukewarm milk, add a little sugar, crumbled yeast and let it rise. Prepare the dough from flour, sugar, melted cold butter, remaining milk, salt, raisins, chopped nuts, star anise and yeast.

2. Leavening ans forming

Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. After leavening, tip it on a floured board out, divide it into three equal parts, which you form into the shape of rolls.

3. Forming

Braid a plait (sweet bread).

4. Baking

Put it to a greased baking sheet and leave it rise for a while and spread with melted butter. Bake at 670°F (355°C) F (355°F (180°C) C) for 25 minute.

5. Decorating

walnuts 0.75 oz (20 g)  raisins 0.75 oz (20 g)  powdered sugar 5.25 oz (150 g)  lemon-juice 3 tbsp  water 1 tbsp

Pour lemon icing over warm sweet bread, which you buy ready-made or prepare this way: mix the sifted powdered sugar, lemon juice and hot water until smooth. Sprinkle with coarsely chopped nuts and raisins.
